A New Camera for a New Citizen (my wife!)

Two things happened last week that were significant, one much more than the other.
The first thing that happened is I purchased a new video camera. The one I purchased just over a year ago, no longer records, this MiniDV camera seems to have a problem recording clearly and I haven’t a clue how to get it fixed (feel free to post any suggestions). What is unique about this camera is that it takes no tapes or memory cards. It records DVD quality (option for widescreen format as well) all to an internal Hard Drive. So, much like a 1 hour MP3 audio file being transferred to your MP3 player or iPod in a matter of minutes, my videos can be transferred to my computer in a fraction of the time it takes to view them. Once on the computer I can then edit and burn it to a DVD for safe keeping. I haven’t downloaded to my computer yet, if you inquire I will let you know my experience. Here is the JVC video camera I purchased (model GZ-MG27).
Now for the REASON I purchased the video camera, the most significant event… On Friday, my wife of 8 years officially became a US Citizen in a special ceremony at the local courthouse (Of course I wanted to record the ceremony) I met my wife in Ghana, West Africa over 10 years ago, she is originally from Brazil. I had never been at a citizenship ceremony before, this was a very special event. They even let people in the audience speak from the podium to share from their experiences. Sample Certificate.
An excellent weekend indeed (didn’t even tell you about an old high school buddy flying out to visit and golf 54 holes of golf!).
