The Contact List is the spreadsheet-like view of a list of contacts in your database. In ACT! 2005/2006 this contact list is shown when more than one contact shows up on a layout. It can also be brought up by hitting the [F8] key on your keyboard.
You may have noticed how static and even stale the Contact List view is in ACT!? As the product ships there isn’t a ton of flexibility to spruce it up and make it what I call Visually Intelligent. That is, you look at the list and instantly know key information about the contacts represented on the screen.

One example, imagine if you could make a contact yellow whose birthday is in the next 30 days, but orange if their birthday is within the next 7 days?
